Local SEO for Yoga studio

The challenge

Heartcore is one of London’s most respected wellness studios, offering pilates reformer classes, yoga, hot pilates, and personal training across a network of boutique locations throughout the city.

Their studios span some of London’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, including Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Parsons Green, St John’s Wood, Bayswater, Hampstead, and Battersea.

Heartcore approached FitPixels with a specific challenge. Their local search presence wasn’t working as it should. For a multi-location business, being easy to find in local search is directly tied to new member acquisition, and that side of their digital presence needed attention.

For a fitness studio business with several prime London locations, local SEO is the main route to discovery.

When someone new to the area, visiting the city, or simply looking for a change searches for “Pilates near me” or “yoga studio Chelsea”, appearing prominently in those results and in Google Maps is what gets them through the door.

Heartcore’s Google Business Profile listings were in poor shape. Across their multiple locations, the listings were inconsistent and incomplete, with inaccurate or missing information that made it harder for Google to serve them confidently in local results. At the same time, the individual studio pages on their website were not properly optimised for local search. Without the right structure, content, and technical signals in place, each studio was missing out on the visibility it should have had in its own neighbourhood.

In a city like London, this matters enormously. The population is vast, highly mobile, and constantly refreshed with new residents, tourists, commuters, and people changing neighbourhoods. All are searching for exactly what Heartcore offers every day. A messy or incomplete local presence means those searches are going to competitors instead.
Local SEO for a multi-location business involves treating each location individually. Each should have its own optimised listing, correctly structured page, and set of local signals, while also remaining consistent with the wider brand. This enables the results to compound across every location simultaneously.

The solution

We approached the Heartcore project as a full local search audit and overhaul, working through every location systematically.

Google business profile optimisation

Each of Heartcore’s studio listings was reviewed and rebuilt from the ground up. We ensured that business names, addresses, and phone numbers were accurate and consistent across every listing. Inconsistency here is one of the most common reasons local listings underperform, as Google uses cross-referencing to assess credibility. Opening hours, studio descriptions, categories, and attributes were all audited and updated. Where content was thin or generic, we added location-specific descriptions that reflected the character of each studio and the services available there. The result was a set of listings that gave Google everything it needed to serve Heartcore confidently in local map results.

Individual location page optimisation

Beyond the Google Maps listings, each studio’s page on the Heartcore website was reviewed and optimised for local search. Pages were structured to include the relevant location-specific signals such as neighbourhood names, nearby landmarks, tube stations, and natural local language to help Google understand which searches each page should appear for. Meta titles and descriptions were rewritten to target the local search terms most likely to drive new visitors, and image alt tags were updated to add further location context.

Schema markup implementation

We implemented LocalBusiness schema markup across all studio pages, providing Google with structured data about each location’s name, address, phone number, opening hours, and service type. For a multi-location business, schema markup is particularly valuable as it reinforces the accuracy of the information Google is being asked to serve, which directly supports local ranking performance.

NAP consistency across the web

Local search rankings are influenced by how consistently a business’s name, address, and phone number appear across the wider web in directories, review sites, social profiles, and other citations. We audited Heartcore’s presence across key third-party sources such as Yelp and addressed inconsistencies that were creating noise in their local signals.

The results were clear across every studio in the network. Search rankings improved for local and proximity-based searches, making Heartcore significantly easier to discover for people searching for Pilates and yoga in their neighbourhood. In a city the size of London, where there is a constant flow of new residents, visitors, and people exploring what’s nearby, that improved visibility translates directly into new members walking through the door.
